Nothing about what you read
No account is needed to read anything here, this site sets no cookies, and we keep no record of which pages you looked at. There is no reading history to hand over, lose or sell, because one is never made.

No cookies are set, no analytics script runs, and no advertising tag loads. That is not a setting we chose to leave off, it is how the site is built, and the rest of this page is the detail behind it.
No account is needed to read anything here, this site sets no cookies, and we keep no record of which pages you looked at. There is no reading history to hand over, lose or sell, because one is never made.
When you click through to an institution we record that the link was used, where it went, the page it was clicked from and a coarse country. No IP address, no identifier, no cookie. We count these so we can tell an institution how much traffic we send it, which is the whole promise of linking out rather than keeping you here.
The institution, your name, your email, your role and your message. It is stored rather than only emailed, because an email eaten by a spam filter looks exactly like being ignored.
Card details never reach this site and we never see them. Stripe tells us that a payment was made and the email address on the receipt, so we know who to set a placement up for.
If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can answer it and remember what was agreed.
Our host and Cloudflare keep standard request logs to keep the site up and to stop abuse. We do not use them to build a picture of a reader.
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie and no preference cookie, so there is nothing to ask your permission for. A banner asking you to accept cookies we do not use would be theatre, and it would make the claim above harder to believe rather than easier.
If sign-in is ever switched on, choosing to sign in would set one session cookie, for the single purpose of keeping you signed in. That is the only cookie this site would ever set, and signing in would be your decision rather than a default.
A short list, which is the point. Each of these does one job.
Some of these are based outside the United Kingdom. Where they are, they operate under the transfer safeguards the law requires, and each publishes its own terms for that.
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to us holding it, or ask for a copy. Write to [email protected] and it is answered by a person, within a month at the outside.
Enquiries are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period after, then deleted. Records of payments are kept for seven years because company law requires it. Outbound click counts are kept indefinitely, because after the click there is nothing in them that points at a person.
We hold what we hold either because we need it to run the index and show institutions the traffic we send them, or because you asked us to do something that requires it, such as buying a placement. If you think we have that balance wrong, say so and we will look at it properly.
If you are not satisfied with how we answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you came to us first, but it is your right and it is there.
